Who Exactly Are We?

Our Mission

Promiseland provides a loving environment that points kids to see the glorious deeds of God and encourages them to set their hope in His amazing plan of redemption through Jesus Christ.

We intentionally partner with families to help raise up children of promise who:

Know God,

Love God,

Share Him with others.

“We will tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord and his might and the wonders that he has done. So that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.”

Psalm 78:4,7

Much of the growth of Katy Community Fellowship has come from placing a priority on our Children’s Ministry. Some of our most gifted people serve there! Our kids love them, we love them, and you’ll love them too!

If you have any questions feel free to contact our Children’s Minister, Olivia Shields, at 281-391-0099.

Child Check-In

All children who attend our services must be checked in by an adult. However that process is slightly different for visitors than it is for our regular attenders.

For Visiting Families:

On your first visit you will be asked to scan a QR code which will take you to a Google Form. This form does take a few minutes to fill out, but it helps us to get all the necessary information on your children to attend our classes. After filling out the form, one of our check in staff will assist you with your name tags. You will receive 3 tags for each child: 1 for the child, 1 for the classroom roster, 1 for pick up. Failure to produce the tag at pick up will result in a need for us to see a form of ID that matches your name given in registration.

On 2nd and 3rd visits, you will once again scan the QR code. However, you will get to pass on filling out the whole form again, as we will already have the information we need on file. You will still need the 3 hand-written name tags on these visits.

At your 3rd visit you will have the option to join our database. Starting on your 4th visit, you will be in our regular check in system.

For Regular Attending Families:

Use one of the two monitors in the entryway to locate your family. You may search by name or phone number. The screens are touch screen. Our team of check in volunteers will be there to assist you if you need help. This system automatically prints 3 tags – 2 name tags and 1 code tag. One name tag stays with the child while the other goes on their classroom roster. Parents keep the code tag for pick up, as it matches the code on the child’s tag. The system prints two codes in the event that multiple children need to be picked up.

Keeping Kids Safe

We do our very best to ensure your child’s safety while they are in our care. Our volunteers are trained and equipped to love and serve like Jesus! Every volunteer has had a background check and gone through an application process. We also have cameras in each children’s area to monitor the classrooms. A TV monitor in the hallway provides the feed for those areas during service.

During service, we prefer that the children’s ministry hallway not be utilized unless necessary. A member of our staff will be stationed in the hallway to help redirect any person who comes down the hallway.

Additionally, during service times, all exterior doors to our building are locked except that main doors which are constantly manned by a team of individuals.

What to Expect

Going to a new church can be a little nerve-racking, especially for our kiddos. Here are a few things that may help you to understand us a little bit better!

#1. Free Donuts!

Get here quick! We always have baggies of donut holes on Sunday morning! Be sure to get here on time though to guarantee you get one! Don’t worry, you can take those donuts right on into class with you!

#2. Dress Code!

On Sunday morning you’ll see kids dressed in their Sunday best and kids dressed in athletic shorts and t-shirts. So feel free to come in clothes that you’re comfortable in!

#3. Age Appropriate Classes!

Check out our individual class pages to get a better feel for what your child can expect! (Those pages will be updated soon to reflect that information.)

Partnering With Parents

It is a passion of our children’s ministry team to partner with parents and equip them to disciple their kiddos all the other days that they aren’t in church. We do our best to update our website with helpful content to keep you encouraged and in the know about what is happening in our ministry.

Be sure to head on over to our Parents Page. This is where you can find out what our current series is, get access to past blog posts, and connect more specifically with the Children’s Minister!

Also be sure to check out our Resource Page! We want to equip you as a parent with encouragement and tools to help your child thrive spiritually in today’s culture! If there’s something you’re specifically looking for, be sure to send our children’s minister a message!

You can also connect with us on social media! We have a public Facebook Page and Instagram. For regular attenders we have a Private Facebook Connection Group as well.
